Zásoby uhlíku v celém půdním profilu lesních půd České republiky v rozlišení 100 m

Description
Maps of carbon stocks in the entire soil profile of forest soils in the Czech Republic at a resolution of 100 m. The maps thematically follow the maps of carbon stocks in the entire soil profile of forest soils (Vašát et al., 2021), but compared to their predecessors, they bring improvements in several respects. First, an improvement in the success of the prediction was achieved, thanks to the use of additional auxiliary variables (covariates), and also thanks to the use of the Quantile Random Forests method (compared to conventional Random Forests) for the calibration of the prediction models. Furthermore, higher detail of the maps was achieved thanks to processing at a higher resolution, 100 m (compared to 500 m for previous maps). Last but not least, the maps were refined by incorporating data on the skeleton contained in individual soil layers into the final estimates. A unique aggregated database of forest soil properties was used again to create the maps (Neudertová Hellebrandová et al., 2024), which includes data obtained from several independent soil surveys realized in the Czech Republic. The upload on ZENODO contains a pdf file (in Czech) with map description and detailed information about methodological background as well as shape files for three individual soil layers: upper organic horizon (FH), upper mineral soil layer 0-30 cm and subsoil layer 30-80 cm.
