A tutorial on Creating a Polycrystalline Volume Element in DREAM.3D and exporting to Finite Element Software
Description
This technical note/tutorial presents a reproducible workflow for generating polycrystalline volume elements (PVEs) in DREAM.3D and exporting grain-resolved geometries as STL files for seamless integration with finite element (FE) software. The methodology enables direct use of realistic microstructures in simulation environments such as COMSOL and ABAQUS.
It is intended to help researchers efficiently transfer realistic microstructures into simulation platforms, reducing the gap between microstructural design and numerical analysis.
