RUANG LINGKUP STUDI ISLAM: METODOLOGI STUDI ISLAM
Authors/Creators
Description
This study aims to comprehensively examine the methodology of Islamic studies as a scientific framework for understanding Islamic teachings in a systematic, objective, and contextual manner. The research is motivated by the tendency to understand Islam primarily through a normative-doctrinal perspective, which often limits its ability to respond to social dynamics and contemporary challenges. This study employs a library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach by collecting data from various relevant literatures on the methodology and scope of Islamic studies. The findings indicate that the methodology of Islamic studies plays a crucial role in integrating two main dimensions: normativity (revelation) and historicity (social reality). Furthermore, the scope of Islamic studies encompasses various fields, including theology (aqidah), worship (ibadah), social, economic, political, educational, and cultural aspects, demonstrating the comprehensive and universal nature of Islam. Multidisciplinary approaches such as sociology, anthropology, and philosophy are essential in enriching Islamic studies in the modern era. Therefore, understanding the methodology of Islamic studies not only deepens academic insight but also provides solutions to contemporary issues, ensuring that Islamic studies remain relevant and adaptable to the changing times.
