The Brane Is Fixed; The Universe Slides

Description

This timestamped clarification note refines the core ontology of the Brane-Slide Cosmology research programme.

Earlier formulations occasionally used the shorthand language of “brane descent” or “brane slide.” The present note clarifies that this should not be understood as literal rigid motion of the entire brane. In the corrected geometry, the brane is treated as a fixed wavy, skirt-like or inverted-cup-like geometric substrate. The objects that slide are the universe-content carried on that substrate: galaxies, galaxy-bearing Gaussian wells, halo structures, and large-scale matter distributions.

The proposed higher-dimensional picture is non-orbital. A Black-Anchor-like bulk source, located outside the observable three-dimensional spatial section in a transverse extra-dimensional direction, supplies an effective projected gravitational gradient. After an early bulk-to-brane injection event interpreted as a Big-Bang-like origin, and after topological pinch-off, galaxy-bearing wells flow along the curved brane surface. Because the brane surface is curved or conical, forward flow along the surface appears internally as increasing lateral separation between galaxies. As the flow approaches the deeper bulk-anchor direction, the effective slide speed increases, giving the appearance of accelerated cosmic expansion.

The note also connects this fixed-brane ontology to the linear modified-gravity signature of the framework. In the quasi-static linear regime, the Brane-Slide modified-gravity functions satisfy the structural relation μ(k,z) − 1 = 2[Σ(k,z) − 1]. Interpreted in terms of a temporal/Newtonian potential Φ_N and a spatial-curvature potential Φ_S, this implies that the Newtonian/time potential is modified while the spatial curvature potential remains unchanged at this order. This provides a compact mathematical expression of the fixed-brane picture: the brane supplies the spatial substrate, while galaxy-bearing wells and matter content slide upon it.

The document is not presented as a completed non-perturbative derivation from the full five-dimensional dynamics. Rather, it is a serious but exploratory timestamped clarification of the intended geometry, its relation to the existing Brane-Slide programme, and the scope of the 2:1 modified-gravity signature. A complete nonlinear treatment, including the explicit projection of the bulk Weyl tensor, is left for future work.
