Autophagy Enhancement via mTOR-Independent ULK1 Activation

Description

PrPSc aggregates overwhelm cellular clearance mechanisms including autophagy. Direct activation of ULK1 kinase bypasses mTOR inhibition and initiates autophagosome formation independently of nutrient sensing. This approach uses selective ULK1 activators to enhance clearance of misfolded prion proteins without affecting normal cellular metabolism.
