Simvastatin Paradox - Low-Dose HMG-CoA Reductase Modulation
Description
Ultra-low dose simvastatin (1-5mg) may paradoxically enhance mevalonate kinase activity through hormetic stress response activation and upregulation of compensatory metabolic pathways. By mildly reducing upstream flux, remaining functional MVK enzymes may be upregulated through metabolic feedback mechanisms.
