miR-140-5p as Biomarker and Therapeutic Target
Description
MicroRNA-140-5p is dysregulated in sex chromosome aneuploidies and directly targets MECP2 and other X-linked genes involved in neurodevelopment. Developing antagomiRs or mimics to normalize miR-140-5p levels could restore proper gene dosage compensation and serve as both a diagnostic biomarker and therapeutic intervention for 48,XXYY syndrome.
