German Chamomile Apigenin for Neuroinflammation Modulation via Microglial M2 Polarization

  • 1. MedicOath

Description

Apigenin from Matricaria chamomilla binds to the benzodiazepine site of GABA-A receptors while simultaneously inhibiting CD40 expression on microglia, promoting M2 anti-inflammatory phenotype. This dual mechanism reduces neuroinflammation-mediated damage in Fabry disease while apigenin's flavonoid structure provides additional neuroprotection through Nrf2 activation and oxidative stress reduction.
