Complement C3a receptor antagonism for ME/CFS neuroinflammation

  • 1. MedicOath

Description

Complement component 3a receptor (C3AR1) is activated by elevated C3a levels in ME/CFS patients, triggering microglial activation and neuroinflammation in brain regions controlling fatigue and cognitive function. C3AR1 antagonists like SB290157 or PMX205 could reduce complement-mediated neuroinflammation and improve central nervous system symptoms.
