Ginkgo biloba Terpenoids for X-Chromosome Gene Dosage Compensation
Description
Ginkgolides A and B modulate HDAC2/3 activity and enhance chromatin remodeling complexes involved in X-inactivation mechanisms. These terpenoids upregulate XIST expression and promote heterochromatin formation, potentially compensating for the failed X-inactivation in pentasomy X by pharmacologically enhancing silencing of supernumerary X chromosomes.
