Gene Therapy Vector Optimization Using Traditional Hepatoprotective Compounds
Description
Co-administration of silymarin from Silybum marianum (milk thistle) with adeno-associated virus vectors carrying functional ASL genes enhances hepatocyte transduction efficiency through modulation of innate immune responses via TLR4 pathway inhibition. Silymarin also reduces vector-induced inflammation while promoting hepatocyte proliferation through Wnt/β-catenin activation.
