Autophagy Activation via mTOR Inhibition for Buruli Ulcer Immunorestoration
Description
Mycolactone disrupts autophagy flux by inhibiting LC3-II formation and blocking autophagosome-lysosome fusion through Sec61 translocon interference. Rapamycin activates autophagy by inhibiting mTORC1, promoting TFEB nuclear translocation and upregulating autophagy genes (ATG5, ATG7, BECN1), potentially restoring macrophage bactericidal function and tissue repair mechanisms.
