Description

Clinical trials data shows Shingrix being tested for cardiovascular event prevention (NCT07485283), suggesting herpes zoster inflammation contributes to vascular disease. The recombinant glycoprotein E vaccine with AS01B adjuvant could prevent both zoster reactivation and associated inflammatory vascular damage. This addresses the dual burden of infectious and cardiovascular disease in aging populations.
