A Holographic-Transactional Framework for Emergent Gravity: An Exploratory Toy Model
Authors/Creators
Description
Abstract:
This paper introduces an exploratory phenomenological framework—framed conceptually as a "Harmonic-Transactional Theory"—that bridges the Transactional Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics (TIQM), the Holographic Principle, and the ER=EPR conjecture.
By modeling quantum interactions as a bidirectional exchange of advanced and retarded waves, this work proposes that the 4D spacetime we observe is not a fundamental background, but rather a macroscopic illusion generated by thermodynamic processes. The spatial dimensions (3D) emerge as a holographic projection of 2D quantum information encoded on the cosmological boundary, while the flow of time (the 4th dimension) emerges as a thermodynamic friction ("the present") resulting from the collision between past offer-waves and future echo-waves.
Key theoretical proposals include:
- Emergent Gravity & ER=EPR: Spacetime geometry is stitched together by quantum entanglement. Gravity is reinterpreted not as a fundamental force, but as an emergent thermodynamic tension in this quantum network.
- Mass as Quantum Staccato: The concept of mass is derived from discrete, interrupted oscillations at the Planck scale (a quantum staccato), contrasting with the continuous (legato) nature of massless particles like photons.
- The Measurement Problem: Wavefunction collapse is reinterpreted as a resolution of thermodynamic balance between past and future states, requiring no conscious observer.
Currently formulated as a proof-of-concept in a scalar-field scope, this framework offers a novel ontological perspective on the foundations of physics, resetting the stage for future rigorous mathematical integration with the fermionic and gauge sectors of the Standard Model.
