Poetic Analysis of Migration and Transcultural Identity in Contemporary Literature

This article analyzes the poetic interpretation of migration and transcultural 
identity in contemporary literature. The study examines migration not only as a social 
phenomenon but also as a process of identity reconstruction. Particular attention is paid to 
the poetics of space in migration literature, focusing on the models of “home,” “foreign 
space,” and “in-between space” in shaping identity. The research is theoretically grounded 
in M. Bakhtin’s concept of the chronotope, G. Bachelard’s poetics of space, and H. 
Bhabha’s “Third Space” theory. The findings reveal that identity in migration literature is 
dynamic and hybrid, manifested through internal conflict and cultural negotiation within 
literary texts.
