Description

It is a well-established fact that meditation and mantra have been used over centuries to maintain better cognitive and emotional stability. Gayatri Mantra is the most powerful and believed to activate vibrational energies, which may have a healing effect on mind, body, and spirit; therefore, an interesting area for study in current psychological research. Gayatri Mantra - considered in ancient Vedic Scriptures as one of the most profound words of spiritual and psychological benefit, mantras are believed to influence cognitive and emotional states, therefore establishing mental clarity and inner balance. Scientific studies show that chanting mantras brings a calming effect and leads to the stabilization of emotions and resilience at the psychological level. In the contemporary world, where stress and emotional challenges are very prevalent, resilience and emotional intelligence play a crucial role in mental well-being. This paper discusses the theoretical underpinnings of Gayatri Mantra chanting and meditation as possible tools for increasing resilience and emotional intelligence among adults. By incorporating Vedic philosophy, neuroscience, and positive psychology, the paper proposes a conceptual framework of how mantra recitation and meditative practices promote self-awareness, emotional regulation, and cognitive flexibility. In the discussion further, it shows how the vibrational effect of the Gayatri Mantra will affect neural pathways, modulate stress responses, and help induce adaptive coping strategies. Traditional wisdom supports these assertions, but empirically, it has a major gap. This paper expounds the need for further research and explores its greater implications in mental health, all-around well-being, and cognitive development.
