Biopsychosocial Patterns in Pediatric Neurodevelopment: A Descriptive Observational Analysis of 136 admission records.
Description
This preprint presents a descriptive observational analysis of 136 pediatric histories collected in routine practice at a specialized neurodevelopment center in Barcelona, Spain. The study examines biological, psychological, and social dimensions of clinical presentation, focusing on recurring patterns of functional burden rather than isolated diagnoses.
Findings highlight the coexistence of emotional regulation difficulties, sensory processing alterations, feeding challenges, sleep disturbances, and school adaptations, frequently appearing together within complex clinical trajectories. A substantial proportion of cases arrived without formal diagnosis, despite significant functional impact.
The study does not aim to establish causal relationships but to identify clinically meaningful patterns and generate hypotheses for future research. It supports the value of structured clinical history-taking as an early interpretive tool in pediatric neurodevelopment.
This work contributes to the understanding of real-world clinical complexity and provides a basis for future longitudinal and comparative research in neurodevelopmental disorders.
