IAIC-PUBL - Human Creativity, Cultural Depth, and Generative Artificial Intelligence: Production, Cultural Capital, and the Reconfiguration of Creative Hierarchies

Authors/Creators

Description

This study proposes a conceptual analysis of the relationship between human creativity and generative artificial intelligence. In the context of the rapid diffusion of systems capable of producing texts, images, music, or concepts at high speed, growing confusion has emerged between automated production and creativity in the full sense. The present work argues that rapidly obtaining a coherent or aesthetically satisfying result is not sufficient to characterize the creative act.

Creativity is here defined as a multidimensional phenomenon combining meaningful transformation, expressive singularity, internal coherence, symbolic scope, and the potential for cultural resonance. On the basis of this framework, the study examines the actual capabilities of generative systems: rapid exploration of spaces of possibilities, recombination of forms, accelerated prototyping, assistance in moving across creative media, and conditional amplification of certain human resources.

The analysis also highlights several structural limitations: dependence on past corpora, a possible tendency toward cultural averaging, difficulty recognizing the avant-garde, absence of embodied subjective experience, strong sensitivity to the quality of human guidance, as well as exposure to economic logics of efficiency and standardization.

The work argues that artificial intelligence does not suppress human creativity but shifts its criteria of evaluation. When producing becomes easier, scarcity tends to move toward vision, discernment, cultural depth, narrative capacity, existential coherence, and the ability to direct tools. In this sense, AI acts simultaneously as a revealer of the gap between producing and creating, and as an asymmetrical multiplier benefiting more strongly users who are already structured.

Finally, the study explores the societal, economic, and educational implications of this transformation, notably the possible emergence of new creative hierarchies based less on access to technical means than on the quality of the inner world being mobilized.
