Description

This document covers the programme and abstracts of the 2026 BeFRAIL webinar series (5th May - 8th July 2026), titled "Digital frailty: the role of 3D modelling in bioanthropology, archaeology and heritage". It aims to explore digital preservation and documentation, heritage conservation and present and future applications. Recordings of the talks will be made open access to the public on the BeFRAIL Educast channel

This year's series comprises 4 invited speakers and 7 junior researchers.

The BeFRAIL Webinar Series are part of the BeFRAIL project  - Porto in Times of Cholera and War: A Bioarchaeological Approach to Human Frailty - that aims towards a holistic transdisciplinary approach to human frailty in the past via the assessment of an archaeological site related to the 3rd Order of Our Lady of Carmo in Porto (Portugal), in use between 1801 to 1869: years of cholera and war. Details of the past webinar series may be found at the BeFRAIL website and BeFRAIL Educast channel.
