Korngrößenverteilungen am Blauen Band Deutschland Projektgebiet Kühkopf-Knoblochsaue, Oberrhein

As part of the hydromorphological monitoring of the BBD model project "Kühkopf-Knoblochsaue," substrate samples were taken after the implementation of the measures (on land with a shovel, sample at a depth of 0-30 cm, aquatically with an excavator from a ship). A total of 53 samples were taken over two days (September 9th and 10th, 2025). Sampling took place along 11 transects along the riverbank, which were defined by substrate samples taken prior to the implementation of the measures. All samples were taken on the right river bank. The transects were distributed across the entire project area (which extends from river kilometer 474.0 to 476.5). The particle size distributions of the samples were determined by the framework contract partner Nowak (particle size distribution analysis according to DIN EN ISO 17892-4 with freeze-drying, destruction of organic components and carbonate). By analyzing the particle size distributions before and after the implementation of measures, it is possible to monitor the success of the BBD model project. Implementation of the measures took place in 2019 & 2020.
