Description
Mediastinitis is a severe and potentially life-threatening condition with high mortality, in which surgical treatment plays a key role in disease outcome. The present single-center clinical study aims to evaluate survival and identify prognostic factors among patients with surgically treated mediastinitis. Lower survival was associated with higher inflammatory markers, whereas more aggressive surgical methods were associated with better clinical outcomes. These findings highlight the importance of timely diagnosis and an individualized therapeutic approach to improve survival in patients with mediastinitis.
