Description

To enable durable, high-performance SOFC system operation with both ammonia and methanol, efficient catalytic methanol steam reforming and ammonia cracking are essential. This requires a novel multi-fuel processing unit capable of handling both processes within a single component, while ensuring high conversion efficiency and stable product gas quality.

To meet these requirements and utilize SOFC exhaust heat, especially for endothermic ammonia cracking, a compact plate heat exchanger fuel processing unit (PHE-FPU) was developed.
