Strengthening Governance, Transparency and Quality Assurance in Colleges: Pathways Towards Viksit Bharat 2047
Description
The vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 emphasizes inclusive growth, institutional efficiency, and global competitiveness. Higher education institutions, particularly colleges, play a crucial role in shaping skilled human capital and strengthening democratic governance. Effective governance, institutional transparency, and robust quality assurance mechanisms are essential for improving academic standards, accountability, and institutional credibility. This research paper examines how governance reforms, transparency practices, and quality assurance frameworks contribute to the transformation of colleges in India. The study is based on secondary data collected from reports of UGC, NAAC, NEP 2020 documents, and government education statistics. The findings highlight that participatory governance, digital transparency, and systematic quality assessment mechanisms significantly enhance institutional performance and academic excellence. The paper concludes that strengthening governance structures, adopting technology-driven transparency systems, and improving quality assurance practices will enable colleges to contribute meaningfully to the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047
