Description
This dataset was collected as part of the project The Impacts of Ocean Fine-Scale Whirls on Climate and Ecosystems (WHIRLS) (https://www.whirls.eu/).
Wave Glider SV3-1170 Melktert (WG_WHIRLS_M1_L0.nc)
This dataset contains raw time series of wind speed and direction, air and sea surface temperature/salinity, wave state (significant wave height, direction, and period), and near-surface currents (east and north) collected by Wave Glider SV3-1170 Melktert. The glider was deployed in the Cape Basin from 17 September 2025 to 12 November 2025.
Disclaimer: The ADCP data is motion corrected using Liquid Robotics onboard processing during each sampling interval, but no further post-processing or quality control has been applied at this stage. Caution is advised when interpreting the raw velocity data, especially in high sea states or during rapid manoeuvres, as residual motion artefacts may be present.
