The rapid development of information and communication technologies (ICT) has led to a significant increase in the complexity and scale of cybersecurity threats. Emerging technologies such as cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things (IoT), and 5G have expanded digital ecosystems, creating new attack surfaces. In this context, traditional security mechanisms are increasingly insufficient against dynamic and adaptive threats. Consequently, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) into cybersecurity has become a critical research and application area. This article examines the theoretical foundations, application domains, advantages, and limitations of AI-based cybersecurity approaches. Furthermore, it explores practical implementations, ethical and legal considerations, and future development trends in modern ICT environments.
