Description
This conference poster (submitted online to an IOP event, 09 July 2021; co-authored with S.P.R. Wilde) presents the earliest formulation of the Dynamic-Atmosphere Energy-Transport (DAET) model for Venus. It identifies the topside solar radiant heating pool above the tropopause, the role of polar vortex descent in delivering heated air to the surface, and the hydrodynamic piston drive that maintains the planet’s high surface temperature.
The poster introduces the key gravito-thermal concepts later formalised in: • “A Short Note on the Comparison between the Tropospheres of Venus and Mars” (Mulholland & Wilde, 19 Feb 2023) • “Venus Cloud Veil Thermostat Conjecture: A Response to Levenson (2021)” (Mulholland, 23 Mar 2026)
This 2021 work is the foundational precursor in the historic thread leading to the Cloud Veil Thermostat Conjecture.
