  • detect common 429 / quota-exceeded failures more reliably,
  • show explicit retry messages for chat provider limits and embedding provider limits,
  • stop treating embedding rate limits as generic provider failures during imports, reindexing, and chat-triggered rebuilds.
• Tighten RAG query typing by introducing a dedicated final-payload type for streamed chat responses.
• Harden Zotero item and PDF attachment helpers:
  • normalize object access through safe record coercion instead of loose unknown-property reads,
  • validate PDF attachment keys more strictly before use,
  • keep citekey, short-title, creator-name, and attachment-path extraction logic working against more heterogeneous payload shapes.
