Description

The intersection of mathematics and psychological rehabilitation presents an unprecedented opportunity to analyze complex human behaviors through the lens of non-Euclidean structures. This paper explores the fractal geometric impact on the effectiveness of youth rehabilitation programmes, specifically focusing on how scale-invariant patterns influence a young person's engagement within their intervention. By applying a thematic analysis to the experiences of youth offender practitioners, this study hypothetically maps qualitative behavioral trajectories onto mathematical models of fractal geometry. Combining dynamical systems theory with qualitative casework shows that rehabilitative progress is hardly ever linear; instead, it displays self-similar, iterative scaling features spanning micro-interventions and macro-outcomes. This study finally offers a fresh interdisciplinary approach to more effectively decipher the underlying mechanisms of youth offender involvement and long-term recidivism decrease.
