Bericht: Explorative Studie zum Aufbau eines Netzwerks redaktioneller Akteure im Bildungsbereich im Rahmen des Projekts IT´sJOINTLY

Dieser Bericht präsentiert die Ergebnisse einer explorativen Studie zum Aufbau eines Netzwerks redaktioneller Akteure im Bildungsbereich. Untersucht werden zentrale Voraussetzungen, Bedarfe sowie Gestaltungsoptionen für die Zusammenarbeit von Organisationen und Initiativen, die Bildungsinhalte sammeln, kuratieren und öffentlich zugänglich machen.

Die empirische Grundlage bilden 17 leitfadengestützte Experteninterviews aus verschiedenen Bildungssektoren (Schule, Hochschule, berufliche Bildung, Weiterbildung und Bibliothekswesen). Die qualitative Analyse zeigt eine hohe Heterogenität hinsichtlich Organisationsgrad, Arbeitsweisen und Qualitätssicherungsprozessen redaktioneller Akteure.

Drei idealtypische Workflows werden unterschieden: (1) Bereitstellung technischer Infrastrukturen ohne redaktionelle Prüfung, (2) kuratierende Sammlung und Aufbereitung bestehender Inhalte, (3) aktive, themenorientierte Content-Entwicklung. Kooperationen bestehen bereits, sind jedoch oft informell und ressourcenbedingt eingeschränkt.

Ein übergreifendes Redaktionsnetzwerk wird grundsätzlich befürwortet. Zentrale Mehrwerte liegen in Erfahrungsaustausch, Sichtbarmachung von Bildungsinhalten und gemeinsamer Interessenvertretung. Empfohlen wird ein schrittweiser Aufbau: zunächst eine flexible „Community of Practice“, später ggf. stärkere Formalisierung.

Die Ergebnisse zeigen ein hohes Vernetzungspotenzial bei gleichzeitig unterschiedlichen Ausgangsbedingungen. Ein erfolgreiches Redaktionsnetzwerk sollte als offenes, adaptives System konzipiert werden, das unterschiedliche Arbeitsweisen integriert und nachhaltige Kooperation ermöglicht.

This report presents the findings of an exploratory study on the development of a network of editorial actors in the education sector. The study examines key prerequisites, needs, and design options for collaboration among organizations and initiatives involved in collecting, curating, and providing access to educational content.

The empirical basis consists of 17 semi-structured expert interviews covering multiple educational sectors, including schools, higher education, vocational education and training, continuing education, and libraries. The qualitative analysis reveals a high degree of heterogeneity in terms of organizational structures, workflows, and quality assurance practices among editorial actors.

Three ideal-typical workflows can be identified: (1) provision of technical infrastructures without editorial review, (2) curatorial aggregation and enhancement of existing content, and (3) active, topic-driven content development involving author engagement. While forms of collaboration already exist, they are often informal and constrained by limited resources.

The concept of a cross-organizational editorial network is broadly supported by all participants. Expected benefits include structured knowledge exchange, improved visibility and aggregation of educational resources, and stronger joint advocacy. A phased approach is recommended, starting with a low-threshold and flexible “community of practice,” with the potential for further formalization over time.

The findings indicate significant potential for networking among editorial actors despite diverse starting conditions. A successful editorial network should therefore be designed as an open and adaptive system that integrates different working modes and fosters sustainable collaboration structures.
