Description
The increasing global demand for food, coupled with water scarcity and climate variability, necessitates the adoption of advanced technologies in agriculture. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative tool in irrigation management by enabling precise water distribution, reducing wastage, and improving crop productivity. This article explores the integration of AI in irrigation systems, focusing on its role in enhancing water efficiency and promoting agricultural sustainability. The study analyzes recent empirical findings, technological advancements, and real-world applications of AI-driven irrigation. The results demonstrate that AI-based irrigation systems can reduce water consumption by up to 30–50% while maintaining or increasing crop yields. The paper concludes that AI technologies are essential for achieving sustainable agriculture in water-stressed regions.
