JWST/NIRSpec IFU Spectra of HR 8799 b, c, d, e from second epoch observation (2.8–5.3 um; R~2,700)

Description

This Zenodo contains the 2.8–5.3 micron (G395H), R~2,700 spectra of the four HR 8799 planets (b, c, d, e) obtained with JWST/NIRSpec IFU on July 10 to 11 2024 (UT) as part of JWST Cycle 1 GTO 1188 (PI: Hodapp). The total on-source integration time was 3.7 hours. This represents the second epoch observation of the system in GTO 1188, with 2x higher S/N than the first epoch data published by Ruffo & Xuan et al. 2026. The first epoch spectra are available in https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17536808.

See the PDF for an illustration of the planetary spectra.

For each planet, two FITS files are provided with filename:
HR8799[planet]_obs12_combined_[nrs1|nrs2]_hpf1dspline_1dspectrum_Flambda.fits
  • (nrs1, nrs2) refers to the two NIRSpec detectors corresponding to 2.8-4.0 um and 4.1-5.3 um respectively.
  • Flambda = flux density in W/m2/um
  • obs12: two rolls were obtained in this observation, and here we present the combined spectra
Each FITS file contains the following extensions:
  • WAVE = wavelength sampling (micron)
  • FLUX = spectrum (W/m2/um)
  • ERR = 1-sigma uncertainty (same units as flux)
  • COV = covariance matrix
  • CORR = correlation matrix
