Ethnoscience Based on Etnice (E-Etnice)): An Innovative Learning Model to Improve Student's Ability in Scientific Literacy

This study aims to develop the Ethnoscience based on ETNICE (E-ETNICE) learning model include of validity, practicality, effectivity and student response with implementation of learning and student activities. The purpose of this study was to obtain validity, practicality, effectivity and student response of the E-ETNICE learning model in Junior high school. Method: This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) research which is oriented towards product development using the Nieeven development model. Determination of the research location using purposive sampling area. The sample in this study was student class VIII. Results: The results showed (1) the validity and reliability is very valid and very reliable with average score 96,73% and 95, 53%, (2) an improved indicator of achievement with average g-score = 0.87 (high); (2) 82.35% of students gave responses that E-ETNICE learning model models enabled them to practice science literacy in junior high school. Novelty: This research emphasize to use ethnoscience for cultural diversity approach student and students' conceptions of local wisdom and the result findings show that each phase of E-ETNICE models significantly contributes to increasing the achievement of indicators of science literacy.
