THE THEME OF TRUE LOVE VERSUS LOVE OF CALCULATION IN A. I. KUPRIN'S NOVELLA "THE GARNET BRACELET"

The article examines A. I. Kuprin’s novella “The Garnet Bracelet.” The central idea is that the foundation of the work lies in the purification and transformation of the individual through love. The themes, imagery system, and the function of nature in the novella are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the psychological aspect and Kuprin’s ability to depict the human capacity to discover a sublime connection between hearts and preserve it forever. The conclusion emphasizes that Kuprin is deeply interested in the humanity of the characters’ feelings, highlighting the subtle psychologism in character portrayal and the sincerity of the narrative tone.
