Prevent, Recognize, and Control Diabetes Mellitus with Compliance
Description
Diabetes mellitus is a non-communicable disease with a continuously increasing prevalence
and the risk of serious complications if not properly controlled. Low public knowledge is one factor
affecting the control of this disease. This community service activity aims to increase public
knowledge and awareness regarding the prevention, recognition, and control of diabetes mellitus
through PATUH behavior. The activity was carried out at the Kalimas Community Health Center in
Pemalang Regency on May 24, 2025, targeting patients and visitors to the community health center.
The implementation method included direct health education, distribution of leaflets as educational
media, and a question and answer session. The material presented included the definition of diabetes
mellitus, risk factors, symptoms, impacts of complications, and the application of PATUH behavior.
The results of the activity showed a positive response and increased understanding of the participants
regarding the material provided. In conclusion, this health promotion was effective in increasing
public knowledge and encouraging independent efforts to prevent and control diabetes mellitus.
