Data and pre-registered predictions for: Emergent precision in oral traditions

Status note (2026-08-18). The cross-domain accuracy-value compilation in this deposit — the domain-level effect sizes, observability scores, and summary statistics in meta_analysis_data.json — derives from the same source-compilation process now under re-derivation, following a source-verification audit (August 2026) that identified gaps in the traceability of a share of its underlying values to their cited sources.

The audit does not reach the other components of this deposit: the Torres Strait pre-registered predictions, bathymetric results, and null-model code and outputs (predictions_preregistered.json, predictions_round2_preregistered.json, bathymetric_results.json, results_round2.json, torres_strait_null_model.py, torres_null_results.npz), or the blind observability rater scores (blind_rater_scores_round1_unanchored_10raters.csv, blind_rater_scores_round2_anchored_6raters.csv.csv). The observability framework definition and the coding protocol are likewise unaffected; both are documented in the associated manuscript rather than in this deposit.

A re-derived version of the compilation will be published under this record's concept DOI (10.5281/zenodo.19342594) on completion. Until then, the quantitative accuracy values in meta_analysis_data.json should not be cited.

Pre-registered prediction files, bathymetric results, empirical null model calibration, blind observability rater scores, and domain-level meta-analysis data supporting Allan (2026) "Emergent precision in oral traditions: cross-domain evidence that structured cultural transmission encodes measurable physical information across deep time." Round 1 predictions were timestamped before ETOPO1 bathymetric analysis. Round 2 predictions were timestamped before AusBathyTopo analysis. Blind rater scores were collected from independent respondents with no knowledge of effect sizes or the study hypothesis.
