FUZZY IF-THEN RULE BASED DECISION MAKING
Authors/Creators
Description
The decision-making process based on IF-THEN rules is a widely used technique for decision making. This technique is used in fuzzy logic systems. The knowledge about a particular problem is represented using logical rules. The rules used are of the form IF-THEN, i.e., if a particular condition is satisfied, then a particular action or result is performed. The conditions are represented by the IF part of the rule, while the action or result is represented by the THEN part. The rules used are normally represented by terms such as low, medium, or high. This makes the decision-making process easier. Once the values are provided to the decision-making process, the decision is made based on these rules. This technique is widely used for decision making.
