The Collapse of Meaning in Creative Collaboration: A UPC Model of a Musician in Studio

This paper applies the Universal Principle of Collapse (UPC) to a real‑world creative‑collaboration event, demonstrating that the structural architecture governing quantum measurement also governs the formation of musical meaning and shared artistic judgment. Earlier UPC work established collapse as an observer‑indexed commitment, formalized through the operator chain PO → MO → LO → s → Jo → C → T → K—and showed that this chain embeds directly into the standard quantum measurement rule without altering the physics. Collapse, in this framework, is not a physical process but the unique selection of an articulated outcome within an Observer’s model.

Here, we extend UPC into the domain of live musical performance by modeling a single, bounded collapse event during a recording session involving guitarist Lliraldi and his trio. The moment spans from the drummer’s count‑in to the group’s decision to keep the take, providing a naturally occurring instance of potential, partition, articulation, salience, recognition, collapse, trace, and consensus. By analyzing this event with full operator fidelity, we show that creative interpretation and collaborative decision‑making instantiate the same structural dynamics as quantum measurement. This case study illustrates the generality of the UPC framework and demonstrates how observer‑indexed collapse operates identically across physics, cognition, and artistic practice.
