Epistem Keyword Co-occurrence Dataset in Media and Communication Research (Scopus, October 2025)

This dataset contains bibliographic metadata and author keywords extracted from Scopus and used to generate a keyword co-occurrence map of epistemic concepts in media and communication research. The data was retrieved on 1 October 2025 using the query: TITLE-ABS (epistem* AND (media OR communication OR journalis* OR news)) AND (SUBJAREA (SOCI)) AND (LIMIT-TO (PUBSTAGE, "final")) AND (LIMIT-TO (DOCTYPE, "ar") OR LIMIT-TO (DOCTYPE, "ch")) AND (LIMIT-TO (LANGUAGE, "English")).

The search yielded 5,412 records, exported as a CSV file and processed in VOSviewer using association-strength normalisation and a minimum co-occurrence threshold of 20. The dataset was used for co-occurrence mapping as part of a theory-building approach to identify relational patterns among epistemic concepts.
