Description
Contemporary research has cited a notable increase in psychological entitlement, especially among younger generations entering the workforce. Research on employee entitlement has generally revealed links to an increase in negative workplace outcomes such as counterproductive behavior, coworker abuse, reduced job satisfaction, and strained supervisory relationships. These behaviors can further impair an organization’s economic performance, lowering workplace morale and undermining employee citizenship behaviors. Therefore, psychological entitlement as a predictor of organizational citizenship behaviors, counterproductive workplace behaviors, perceptions of supervisory abuse, and age will be explored. PE will be analyzed to determine whether this construct plays a destructive role in employee behavior.
