HUB Ocean intro – DataCite Community

Presentation by Gustav Kågesten (Science Director, HUB Ocean) and Matthew Whaley (Data and Operations Manager, HUB Ocean) shared during DataCite Open Hours on 25 March 2026. Rather than giving a traditional slide presentation, the speakers used the session to demonstrate the HUB Ocean Data Platform, a cloud-native geospatial platform designed to make ocean data more accessible, interoperable, and actionable. The demo highlighted HUB Ocean’s mission to support ocean protection and restoration through open data, collaboration, and how DataCite supports them in data sharing.
