Description

This repository contains electricity price results generated with the stochastic power market model FanSi for Case Study 2 of the Man0EUvRE project. The analysis is based on a representation of the European power system in 2050, derived from the EU EnVis-2060 energy transition scenario NECP Essentials.

The results are computed using historical weather variability for the years 1991–2020. Each year is represented as a stylized 364-day year (52 weeks with a fixed weekday structure), yielding 2912 time steps per year at 3-hour resolution (52 × 7 × 8).

The data are provided in two alternative formats:
(i) IAMC format, where all data are stored in a single file with a Subannual dimension following a year–week–day convention (e.g., 1991-01-01 denotes day 1 of week 1 in 1991), and where the column “2050” reports values for the modelled 2050 power system
(ii) 2D tabular format, where each file contains a matrix with 2912 rows (time steps within a year) and columns corresponding to the years 1991–2020.

Building on the baseline configuration of the NECP Essentials scenario[1], the analysis explores stylized expansions of four flexibility options in Norway: enhanced hydropower flexibility (+HydroFlex), elastic demand (+ElasticDemand), time-shiftable demand (+TimeShiftDemand), and strengthened cross-border transmission (+TransFlex). The Base scenario corresponds to a direct implementation of NECP Essentials in FanSi.

Further details on data and methods are provided in ref. [2]. Additional data may be made available upon reasonable request.
