Description

This presentation, entitled "The MaLDReTH map of tools used in the research lifecycle: A reference for building interoperability into research infrastructures", was prepared for and presented virtually at the SciLifeLab Data Open Science Seminar Series on 24th March 2026.

This presentation was an introduction to MaLDReTH, a community initiative coordinated by a Research Data Alliance (RDA) working group, which maps the different categories of tools used across the research lifecycle and provides concrete examples for each stage. It also presented PRISM, an interactive tool currently being developed to catalogue and visualize interoperability between these tools. Furthermore, the talk highlighted how universities and national research infrastructure initiatives are using MaLDReTH and PRISM to design more integrated and interoperable systems, enabling smoother flow of data and metadata throughout the research lifecycle. During this online webinar, Rory Macneil guided the audience through the MaLDReTH landscape and its practical applications.
