Scione cingulata (Enderlein, 1925)

Scione cingulata var. scionina Enderlein, 1925: 304 (as “aberration”); Kröber, 1930: 151 (rev.); 1934: 233 (cat.).

Type locality. Peru, Cuzco, Callanga.

Diagnosis. Body yellowish-brown. Antenna, palpus and frons brown. Thorax brown with yellowish longitudinal stripes. Gena and pleura with whitish hairiness. Wing smoky brown. Legs yellowish-brown. Tergite 1 yellow with dense black setulae. Tergite 2 yellow with dense yellow setulae. Other tergites yellowish-brown with dense black setulae, tergites 3 to 5 with triangles of yellow setulae on the central posterior margin.

Distribution. Peru (Cuzco).

Type material examined. Lectotype, ♀, deposited at the MNHUB (examined through photographs).

Comments. Scione cingulata is quite distinguishable from other species by having the first two yellow abdominal tergites contrasting with the other dark tergites.
