Scope and intent

On the GR-exact branch of GCV, late-time cosmology is described by GR with a constant, flux-fixed integration constant Λeff\Lambda_{\mathrm{eff}}Λeff once Λeff\Lambda_{\mathrm{eff}}Λeff is fixed by data. This note sharpens the interpretation of the observed tiny late-time Λeff\Lambda_{\mathrm{eff}}Λeff as a residual “squashing remnant” of constant-mode neutralisation rather than as a dynamical dark-energy component.

The paper is intended as an interpretation and phenomenology note. It argues that a simple flux-discretuum picture makes small residual values structurally plausible, while keeping the late-time GR-exact background interpretation explicit.

It does not claim:

  • a full first-principles derivation of the exact observed value of Λeff\Lambda_{\mathrm{eff}}Λeff,
  • a complete selection/measure theory,
  • or a full UV completion.

  • Tightened and cleaner statement of the remnant interpretation on the GR-exact branch.
  • Scope refined to avoid over-claiming beyond what is established in this note.
  • Clearer survey-facing summary of what can and cannot mimic dark energy in minimal GCV.
  • Updated alignment with the companion benchmark-scoped UV package, while keeping this note focused on the residual-Λeff\Lambda_{\mathrm{eff}}Λeff interpretation itself.
