The book The Holy Scripture or the Bible – A Contemporary Translation from Hebrew represents a modern translation of the biblical text based on philological, linguistic, and textual-critical analysis of original sources. The translation includes both the Old and New Testaments and is primarily based on Greek manuscripts of the Alexandrian textual tradition, with a distinctive contribution in the translation of the Gospel of Matthew from the Hebrew Shem-Tov manuscript.

The methodological approach of this translation is characterized by a strong commitment to fidelity to the original text, preserving semantic precision, syntactic structure, and theological nuances. Particular attention is given to the rendering of qualitative determiners, metaphorical structures, and key theological concepts, aiming to retain the complexity and symbolic depth of biblical language.

In comparison with other Serbian translations, this work demonstrates a high degree of correspondence with the original texts, while also reflecting specific features arising from the use of different manuscript traditions and Hebrew sources. Analyses indicate that the translation maintains a high level of semantic accuracy and terminological consistency, especially in the domains of power and authority, justice and law, wrath and punishment, and salvation and grace.

This translation represents a significant contribution to modern Hebrew studies and biblical philology in the Serbian language, as well as to interdisciplinary research at the intersection of linguistics, theology, and the history of religion. Its academic relevance is confirmed by its inclusion in scholarly analyses and studies dealing with comparative research on Serbian Bible translations, positioning it within the contemporary academic discourse on biblical translation. The Gospel of Matthew in this edition is based on a direct translation from the Hebrew source, specifically the Shem Tov Hebrew version of the Gospel of Matthew.

predstavlja savremeni prevod biblijskog teksta zasnovan na filološkoj, lingvističkoj i tekstualno-kritičkoj analizi izvornika. Prevod obuhvata tekstove Starog i Novog zaveta i zasniva se prvenstveno na grčkim rukopisima aleksandrijske tekstualne tradicije, uz poseban doprinos u vidu prevoda Jevanđelja po Mateju sa hebrejskog Šem-Tovovog rukopisa.

Metodološki pristup ovog prevoda karakteriše težnja ka što većoj vernosti izvornom tekstu, uz očuvanje semantičke preciznosti, sintaksičke strukture i teoloških nijansi. Posebna pažnja posvećena je prenošenju kvalifikativnih determinatora, metaforičkih struktura i ključnih teoloških pojmova, čime se nastoji očuvati slojevitost biblijskog jezika i njegova simbolička dubina.

U poređenju sa drugim srpskim prevodima, ovaj prevod pokazuje visok stepen poklapanja sa izvornim tekstovima, uz uočljive specifičnosti koje proizlaze iz korišćenja različitih rukopisnih tradicija i hebrejskih izvora. Analize pokazuju da prevod u velikoj meri zadržava semantičku preciznost i terminološku doslednost, posebno u domenima kao što su moć i autoritet, pravda i zakon, gnev i kazna, te spasenje i milost.

Ovaj prevod predstavlja značajan doprinos savremenoj hebraistici i biblijskoj filologiji na srpskom jeziku, kao i razvoju interdisciplinarnih istraživanja na preseku lingvistike, teologije i istorije religije. Njegova relevantnost potvrđena je prisustvom u naučnim analizama i radovima koji se bave uporednim proučavanjem srpskih prevoda Biblije, čime zauzima važno mesto u savremenom akademskom diskursu o prevodima Svetog pisma. Jevanđelje po Mateju u ovom izdanju zasnovano je na direktnom prevodu sa hebrejskog izvora, konkretno sa Šem-Tovove hebrejske verzije Jevanđelja po Mateju.
