Courtesy Loew family. 4 Charlotte Nietzsche was first cousin once removed to the famous philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900) (Klassik Stiftung Weimar, Nietzsche family, documents no. GSA 100/1389). She and Johann Adolph Löw even lodged Friedrich Nietzsche's father, Carl Ludwig, in 1828 for a few days before he became a student at Rossleben at the same time Hermann Loew's youngest brother Adolf schooled there.
