Macrobathra Meyrick, 1883

Macrobathra Meyrick, 1883: 425 (key). Type species: Macrobathra chrysotoxa Meyrick, 1886, by subsequent designation (Meyrick, in Wytsman, 1922).

Leurozancla Turner, 1933: 173. Type species: Leurozancla humilis Turner, 1933, by monotypy.

Diagnosis. Macrobathra can be identified by the following characters: second segment of the labial palpi shorter than third segment; scape of the antenna elongated; forewing veins R 4 and R 5 stalked; hindwing veins M 3 and CuA 1 stalked; brachia of uncus of male genitalia usually symmetric, rarely asymmetric; valva of male genitalia usually setose distally; accessory bursae arising from ductus bursae usually present in female genitalia; pair of signa present in the corpus bursae usually equal in size (Meyrick 1886; Zhang & Li 2023).

According to Zhang & Li (2023), Macrobathra is similar to Pancalia Stephens, 1829 because they share some characters, such as the labial palpi configuration, the venation on both fore- and hindwings, and the aedeagus separated from the anellus. The two genera can be distinguished by the following characters: metallic stripes on the forewing are usually presented in Macrobathra but absent in Pancalia; the aedeagus of the former is usually straight and slender whereas that of the latter is often strongly bent and stout.
