Description

Parastasia discolor discolor Westwood, 1841

Parastasia discolor Westwood, 1841: 304; Hope 1841: 34; Hope 1846: 94; Ohaus 1900: 244; Schultze 1916a: 175; Ohaus 1918: 34.

Parastasia discolor discolor: Wada 2015: 132.

Type locality. “ Philippines.”

Distribution in the Philippines. Luzon (Bicol), Visayas (Panay, Negros, Samar, and Leyte), and Mindanao (Bukidnon, Agusan del Sur, Sarangani, Misamis Oriental, Surigao, and Davao) (Westwood 1841; Kuijten 1992; Wada 2015).

Overall distribution. Endemic subspecies to the Philippines.

Remarks. In the article by Schultze (1916a), P. discolor scutellaris was noted to occur on the island of Luzon. However, no evidence to date of its existence has been documented. This may be erroneous and mislabeled as ‘ scutellaris ’ instead of ‘ discolor ’.
