Coherence as a Structural Condition within Coherence Intelligence Architecture

Description

Coherence is defined as a structural condition of relational alignment within a system operating under constraint. This paper establishes coherence as a prerequisite for valid system states, independent of correctness, performance, or interpretation.

Systems are commonly evaluated based on outputs, yet internal misalignment can exist even when results appear consistent. This paper addresses that gap by introducing coherence as a condition that determines whether a system remains structurally aligned while functioning.

The concept is presented in a domain-independent manner and applies across biological, cognitive, social, and computational systems. It provides a basis for identifying when a system is holding together and when it begins to lose alignment, without relying on surface behavior or subjective evaluation.

This paper defines coherence as a foundational condition and does not extend into methods of generation, measurement, or restoration.
