Description

The project Know4Nano is funded under HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-ACCESS-02 Grant Agreement number
101159710, and it focuses on knowledge and skills transfer for the applications of nanotechnology in
biosensors development for pathogen detection in food safety. The Know4Nano project brings together
BioSense Institute and three leading EU research institutions, whose complementary expertise in the field of
BnT will be leveraged to develop cutting-edge biosensing platforms for practical applications along the farmto-
fork food chain. By establishing a knowledge transfer platform based on carefully designed mobilities,
trainings and novel approaches in mutual collaboration, the project will improve excellence capacities of
BIOS, while enhancing strategic networking activities between all partners. Know4Nano will enable BIOS
researchers to acquire essential expertise, competencies, and skills in nanomaterials, biosensors,
microfluidics, and food safety. This development will expand their individual research portfolios, thereby
boosting the institution's research reputation. Furthermore, the strategically designed collaboration will
enhance BIOS’s research management and administrative capacities, unlocking the full potential of existing
research and increasing the applicability of its results.
The Know4Nano project officially began with a kick-off meeting held on October 1st and 2nd, 2024, at the
BioSense Institute in Novi Sad, Serbia. The primary goal of the meeting was to bring together consortium
members to discuss project implementation details.
This document provides the minutes of the Kick-Off Meeting for the Know4Nano project, detailing key
discussions and presentations over the first two days. It summarizes the opening remarks, project objectives,
partner contributions, and work package overviews, as well as quality management, data handling practices,
and upcoming capacity-building activities. The meeting set the foundation for collaboration among
partners, outlining critical milestones, strategies for project implementation, and plans for future
workshops, training, and expert and student visits.
